Wool braids

It was about 2 weeks ago that I decided to get wool braids.
I first saw them on my friend from Nigeria and thought they looked so cool on her that I really wanted to give it a try myself. Of course, since this is a typical ‘afro’-hairstyle I wasn’t sure whether it would suit me because I’m so pale but now I definitely don’t regret making that choice!
I think they look really cool on me and I SO don’t regret getting them – although the actual process of braiding them into my hair took them 7 hours, yes, 7 !!
(I don’t even wanna think of the removal process, although one of the women who braided my hair said it isn’t that time intensive)
It was a bit of a torture but since it ended up looking so rad I have no regrets, some people even asked me to take photos with them, bet they thought I was famous euheuheuheu….:P
The kind of wool-strigns they used to braid are made out of cotton btw. – since I’m vegan, and also since I just like cotton better as a material. Anyways, there are not only positives to those long braids. Here’s my list of pros and cons I’ve experienced with them so far:

Pros:

  • they just look cool
  • put you into the spotlight of attention basically anywhere you go
  • people will compliment on your hair (I get about 5 people per day telling me they like my hair)
  • they just give every outfit a special touch, especially if you already dress a little edgy
  • you save a lot of time when taking showers and doing the ‘hair care’
  • they last very long

Cons:

  • getting them takes ages
  • can’t wash them like normal hair
  • they get very heavy when they get wet
  • they disturb a little while sleeping, resting on your head
  • oils and sprays are a necessity to keep your hair hydrated
  • the number of hairstyles you can do with them is quite restricted

So this is just a quick list of things I experienced since I have them, although some of the pros listed do weigh more than the cons to me.
Another cool thing about these braids is that they can stay in your hair for up to 6 months! Well, I think I will remove mine before university starts at the end of september but this might not have been my last time getting them. :)

Did you ever have braids or thought about getting them?

Vintage 0981

Okay, I know it's summer and this might not exactly be a summer outfit but I 'recycled' this awesome leather coat from my moms closet and I'm so in love with it, that I thought I'd use it to create a look, so here it is:

When I took it out and wore it to walk my dog in the evening and my mom noticed she was like 'God, how can you wear that old coat?' But in all honesty, I'm in love with it! It's comfortable, oversized and keeps me warm in frosty summer nights.

Thank you for hiding such treasures, mom.

Oh, and no, I didn't get a haircut, it's a wig! :)

Sometimes I just love wearing wigs because they allow me to change my look in literally only a wink. This one is especially awesome because it isn't too shiny, unlike most other wigs. I've bought it when I was in Japan, it's by the brand Clair Beauty. I unfortunately don't really know much about their other products, though, since this is the only one by them that I bought. However, it fits just tightly enough, looks real & has straps to adjust the size perfectly to your head. I love it!

Harajuku Winter

There's finally a new look up on my lookbook page!

I named it 『Harajuku Winter』 because I've bought the most essential accessory for this look in Harajuku, Japan and, quite obviously, because it's winter.
I've matched my quite colourful Zara scarf and my pastel pink oversized coat from Australia with ripped open, dark black Topshop Jeans and a pair of Buffalo Classic platform sneakers and combined it with my favourite back pack, the Tiger head which it definitely the no.1 eye catcher about this outfit!
It kept me warm and cozy all day of which I spent most of the time outside and the platform sneakers even prevented me from sliding on ice or snow on the streets etc. I hope you love this combination as much as me! (even though it's a bit crazy hehe)

Directions Hair Colour

Did you ever have the wish to change your haircolour but only for a short period of time?
Then this is definitely the right hair colour for you since it only lasts for about 2 weeks and you can choose almost every crazy colour you want. (*´ω`*)
it is not expensive as well.
i dyed my hair with it when i was in japan and even though it says 'use on bleached hair' and my hair actually is too dark i am very satisfied with the result.
the colour is just a little darker and not as strong i guess.
these are the colours i've used:

here is the result i got with the lavender - pink dip dye i've used:

(don't really like these two
but at least you can see the effect of the colour without filter)

i just love the dip dye effect (´◡`)

*hope this post was kind of interesting for you *
thanks for reading!
