Short Trips: London & Dublin

Over the past three weeks I've had a really nice time traveling again.
I feel strange lately because for some reason I enjoy being away from home a crazy lot, much more than I should. Anyways, lets skip the talking part for this post and lets come straight to the photos I took!

Here's my impressions of London:

The UK trip consisted mainly of tasty food, spending excessive amounts of money shopping and happy reunions with old friends, it was wonderful :)

I also went to Dublin shortly after but it wasn't that exciting because it was a trip which was mainly thought to be a family reunion for St. Patrick's Day.
Said St. Patrick's Day was spent at a family get-together at my grandfather's manor so unfortunately we didn't get to see the parade in Dublin but we had a really nice time nevertheless and I did eventually still have the time to visit Dublin plenty!

Have a selfie with my favourite cousin who paid for me way too many times during my time in Dublin because I really could've sworn I was broke after London but actually I wasn't lol, I love him though ~ the kind of person that has my back when I'm right and also when I'm wrong :)

And now? Now I'm back home again, not knowing what to do with my time until my next adventure/the start of university in autumn but I'm working on some new posts and also planning to actually find a part-time job somewhere and earn some own money to spend.
Hopefully that plan will work!

Have you ever been to London or Dublin?
They are two of my favourite cities personally, but how did you like them and which places did you like best?

My personal top 5 apps for Instagram on the iPhone!

Soooo this could be an interesting post for all the instagram users reading this!
Since I'm a person with a relatively big Instagram audience the social network has become really important to me hence I care a lot about what I post on there.
The quality of my photos is just as important as posting regularly and engaging with my followers.
It, however, happens very often that I am rather busy so I usually don't have the time to sit on my macbook editing photos to post on instagram for hours. I therefore have a list of apps on my iPhone that I use, whenever my photos just need a quick fix.
Here are my personal all-time-favorites:

#5 Alisa
Alisa is always a good app if you wanna frame your photos or add a special, unique touch to them. It offers a wide variety of colorful frames/backgrounds for your photos and 3 filters to match the tone of your photos better to the tone of the frame. :)
I used to use this app a lot but now since the trend of instagram has gone into a more 'natural' edit I don't really use it anymore, at least not for my IG photos.

#4 Phhhoto
Phhhoto isn't exactly a photo editing app, it's more of an app to record very short GIFs - so, moving photos. This app as well lets you choose between natural light or black and white filter and the results definitely convinced me! I love using this and experimenting with it whenever I'm bored now, the results are usually really great! :)

#3 VSCO cam
VSCO cam is already quite popular and well-known as a photo editing tool amongst many IG users. It offers a lot of retro inspired filters and the popular 'fade' effect.

#2 Photos
This might sound weird since 'Photos' is already an apple intern application every iPhone user has on their phones but I personally couldn't imagine uploading photos without the 'fade' filter on my IG anymore. I think it's great and adds to the 'artistic' touch. haha.

#1 Afterlight
This is by far my all time favorite for photo editing on the iPhone.
It offers an incredible amount of different, very beautiful filters and I will guarantee you will find at least one or two filters that will match your feed just perfectly. It also offers basic photo editing like adjustments in lighting, contrast, saturation, hue, etc. and users can also choose from an amount of frames or use the 'layering' effect on their photos.

I loved this app a lot, not only for Instagram but also for my general photo editing on the iPhone. Only minus here is that it's not completely free but I can promise you those 0,99 cents are definitely more than worth it!

Another very useful app, probably not useful in terms of photography but definitely useful for instagram that I use is the 'followers'-app!

it allows you to keep an overview of your follower stats and enables you to unfollow those cheeky unfaithful ones in only just a click!
If you purchase the premium packs (which are like 0,99$ I believe) it also gives you a list of your followers from best to worst and also shows people who are not following you but like your photos on a regular basis so you can ideally give back some love!

What is your favorite app for photo editing on your phone? :)

Harajuku Winter

There's finally a new look up on my lookbook page!

I named it 『Harajuku Winter』 because I've bought the most essential accessory for this look in Harajuku, Japan and, quite obviously, because it's winter.
I've matched my quite colourful Zara scarf and my pastel pink oversized coat from Australia with ripped open, dark black Topshop Jeans and a pair of Buffalo Classic platform sneakers and combined it with my favourite back pack, the Tiger head which it definitely the no.1 eye catcher about this outfit!
It kept me warm and cozy all day of which I spent most of the time outside and the platform sneakers even prevented me from sliding on ice or snow on the streets etc. I hope you love this combination as much as me! (even though it's a bit crazy hehe)

Thank you for reading!

little update.

Looong time no blog post & I'm very sorry for that!
I have been so busy with school and trips on the weekend
that i simply forgot about this blog for a while.
Haha I have also celebrated my birthday in that time,
the prêt-a-porter chanel fasion show took place and (of course) the Oscars!
In legendary memory, Ellen's selfie, which made it to the most popular photo on twitter and tumblr! ~☆

I don't know why but it makes me smile everytime i look at it.
To the world's suprise the oscar didn't go to Di Cabrio ~ sorry Leo, next time, i'm sure!

There have also been some changes in my life! (^0^)
For example i've got a tattoo on my ankle last weekend and i have no regrets.
It didn't hurt too much but the feeling that describes it probably best is: like a someone is cutting you with a knife. It sounds really bad but you actually get used to it quite quickly and i have already have my next tattoo in planning which is gonna be on the side of my body, the rip area.
I am already looking forward it, but hope i am not gonna become addicted to it haha..
If you think about getting a tattoo, you should think about the place where you want to get it and the meaning it has to you though. it shouldn't be something stupid you want to remove in two years anyway or for example on a very visible place like the hands where everybody can see it so they could get a negative impression of you.
I chose the birds, which i have designed myself by drawing them first so it is pretty unique and then gave the template to the tattoo artist who put it on my skin.
I am super happy with the result and it means a lot to me. for example and that's the most important thing ~the birds symbolize freedom.
If you are not good at drawing there are plenty of books at most studios where you can have a free choice of patterns.
I was also very suprised about the price, which was only 45£!
it is quite cheap i think, especially compared to luxembourg where i, i think, couldn't have got the same tattoo for under 80£
Here are some photos of my visit at the tattoo studio, the result, and my birthday !

☆Winter Vacation 2013~ Hokkaido, Japan ☆

This was my trip to let the year 2013 have it's perfect ending.
I've been to Japan!
Finally seeing my friends again was definitely the best thing about this trip.
But besides that, we also went snowboarding, shopping and enjoying the tasty japanese kitchen a lot.
In Comparison to England or Germany, Japan was quite cold already and it even snowed in Sapporo!
It was wonderful tho for me, as usual when i travel to Japan.
I simply love this country.
The people are all so nice & everything is just so interesting.
It's like you can never get enough of it.

Of course I didn't travel all the way to Japan without taking a single photograph, so here they come.
Enjoy~

when i arrived in Tokyo it was really rainy but not so cold.

we also went to disney sea where akio bought me that cute bear & we could enjoy the beautiful christmas atmosphere.

party is always good.👍

dinner with the cutest boy ever :3

i've also worked on my black & white photography of daily life sceneries a little while in japan.
There are streets in Sapporo & the Otaru train station.

xoxo  Micky
