Spooky days!

It's just been a very special time of the year again, guys – it just been Halloween!
And if you're like me, you'll probably have been looking forward to this time of the year for ages now because, from adrenaline-junky to adrenaline junky, what's better than being scared?
Walking home on those empty, foggy streets after having spent a horror-movie-night at your friend's place and feeling that adrenaline, that comes with the fear, rush through your veins! It's gloomy, scary & thrilling - just Halloween.

But why do we actually celebrate Halloween each year?

Halloween (derived from "All Hallows Eve") is a pagan tradition.
Celtic priests, druids, used the 31st of October to commemorate the dead souls and the prince of death "Samhain". During this ceremony, the druids would move from house to house demanding sacrificial offerings - those were often human sacrifices, usually children - if the families would deny making a sacrifice, the druids would smear blood onto the door of their house which was about equal to a death sentence to all residents. For protection from evil spirits the druids would wear animal masks because they believed that by doing this, the strength of the animals would be transferred to them. Irish immigrants would later bring the tradition to america.

Today children will dress up for Halloween and walk from house to house demanding "treats" and if no sweets ("treats") are offered to them they will play the house owner a prank ("tricks").
Little do they know that the original "trick or treating" of the druids brought death and destruction and was idolatry in its purest form.

But now enough of the gory details, let's move on to my latest coordinate under this theme!

Eating Souls

Are you scared yet?
I know, I know, quite a light outfit for the low temperatures but I wasn't going trick or treating this year anyways – it's more of a party look & honestly, I probably only made this look so I could show off my amazing make up skills *cough cough* (obviously the black eye is partly edited) :P

I have to admit I really, really enjoyed this demonic look.
Maybe being creepy is just in my nature, haha.

This was the first try for this look, sorry for the graininess of the photo.
Overall you can definitely say that I'm the kind of person that loves dressing up and slipping into different roles, that's probably why festivals like Halloween or Carnival are always so much fun to me! Unfortunately I didn't get to use this costume idea in the end because a friend got sick so we stayed in and spent the night watching Halloween classics with popcorn and whiskey but who said that Halloween has to be a fixed date anyways? We will just celebrate it later :)

How did you spend your Halloween?

xx ♡ Micky

    1. Ikr! It's so gory to even think about that – I swear no children or animals had to suffer in any way or form for my outfit though haha!
